So, what kind of shower do you plan when it's your bestie who designs parties professionally, who is having her fourth baby, which happens to be her third boy?
This was my problem. If she was having a girl I was going to do a full on Valentine's Theme, inspired by this picture:
Cute, huh? But, she is being blessed with a third son (her and I joke, with a dad, brother, husband, and three sons, she will never have to mow a lawn). So I stumbled on this picture and knew I had something awesome:
Um, HELLO! So cute, and so perfect. That picture is from this blog and was used for a woman having her sixth son (holy high grocery bill, Batman!). I thought this verse was perfect because the beginning of the verse talks about how having sons is a heritage from the Lord. So this is the shower I came up with. I used the nursery colors of navy and grey, with aqua for an accent color. I tried to work in as many arrows as I could without making it look like a hunger games party or overly warrior-ish.
I could seriously swoon when I look at that feature table. It came out exactly how I pictured it. A friend used chalkboard pens to write the verse out for me.
This frame is one I already had from Hobby Lobby, along with some grey chevron fabric and an M. The diaper cakes, oh my goodness. I love me some diaper cakes. And those Nike's on top? Double swoon.
I really wanted to have a welcome table for when guests came in. I had an Instagram page for guests to upload photos to.
See the little tiny arrows on that navy washi tape? Love!
Since the shower was in February, and it's a tad bit cold this time of year, I had a cocoa bar for the guests to enjoy and then little cocoa favors for them to take home.

Finally, the gift table. You know, this is the sixth baby between the two of us (although only the fifth pregnancy since she had twins) and it has taken us this long to figure out how uncomfortable it is to sit on a folding chair while preggers and bending over to pick up gifts to open. So this time, I had a comfy chair and pillow with a navy herringbone print. Much more comfy.
As always, it was so much fun to plan a baby shower! Melissa was blessed with many wonderful gifts from friends and family, and it was an honor to be able to do the shower.
