Just Like Michelle Duggar

So finally here is a long awaited story from the hospital. I have to give a big shout out to Chris. He was absolutely amazing through the entire hospital stay. The stories I'm going to tell kind of tease him a bit, but he was great and really supportive. He was totally compassionate when I was in so much pain, and he came home after being up all night and day with me and then had to get up to feed Savannah in the middle of the night. But, he had two pretty funny moments while we were at the hospital. So when I went to bed Saturday night, I was pretty restless and just couldn't go to sleep. All of a sudden, I had shooting pain in my upper right abdomen, right under my ribs. I waited a few minutes before waking Chris up but I knew that something was wrong so I started shaking his arm. He wakes up to find me throwing clothes on, as I am literally crying because the pain is so bad. I tell him to get up, he has to take me to the hospital. He's not all the way awake yet, so he's laying there and he mumbles, "Do you want me to pray for you?" Which is very sweet, but I could also see he meant, "Why don't you lay back down and I'll pray for you and maybe you'll go back to sleep." I snapped back at him, not very nicely I'm afraid, "No, I DON'T want you to pray for me, I want you to get out of bed and take me to the hospital RIGHT NOW!" His eyes flew open, he jumped out of bed, and we were off. I think once he realized that something was wrong, he busted into action. We were stuck behind a very slow driver on the way and Chris was so frustrated, and he was praying, once we were in the car, which did make me feel better and made me a little sorry I bit his head off earlier. So we get there and they got me right in, I was getting short of breath from the intensity of the pain. Before they gave me any pain meds I actually pumped because I knew I would have to throw away any breastmilk after pain meds. I'm like sobbing on the gurney, pumping away, while my MALE nurse (Gaylord Focker, anyone?) is standing there, pain meds in hand, waiting for me to finish so he can dope me up. So the pain meds did the job, but made me extremely nauseated and I really didn't stop throwing up until about 5:00 the next day. After two ultrasounds, they tell me I have to have surgery that day. Honestly, I was really scared. I'm not scared to die, because I believe in God, but I was scard for my girls and Chris in case anything would happen to me. I was also secretly ashamed to my vanity-stricken core that I was having my gallbladder removed. I mean, come on, isn't that an old lady surgery? So I'm still laying on the same gurney, leaning over my barf bag, crying from pain and fear, slightly woozy and dizzy from the pain meds, and Chris is holding my hand and reassuring me when all of a sudden he says, "Hey, you're going to be just like Michelle Duggar!" I'm presuming he meant because she too has had her gallbladder removed, because in no other way am I like Michelle Duggar! In the middle of all that, I just had to laugh at that comment! Seriously, though, I know I picked out a winner when I got Chris. He was amazing through the hospital and has been a huge help in my recovery. I love you, babe! Thanks for coming up to me at that game!

HA HA HA!! OK, that was just plain hilarious. "Do you want me to pray for you?" :) The word hospital really woke him up. I'm glad you're feeling better though and sorry you had to go through that. Makes for a great story though. :)
