So today is Sydney's almost birthday. I was due with her on December 19, 2006. My induction was scheduled for December 12, but on November 29 I wasn't feeling very good. My mom and I had gone to lunch that day with my grandma, and all during lunch I just didn't feel right. Right after lunch, we drove straight to the hospital. Sure enough, things were progressing. I was contracting regularly and dilated to 3. I got to call Chris at work and say, "Honey, I'm in labor, come to the hospital!" He came and all afternoon I was sore and tired. I was fully admitted, birthplan paper work filled out, IV in, fluids running, when WHAM!! It all stopped. It just...went away. I cried when they told me they were going to send me home because it was still too early. I knew that was the right thing to do, but I just felt like we were so close! I had been really excited because I figured she would be born sometime on November 30, so it was still an even numbered day and that way her birthday wouldn't be so close to Christmas. Of course, God had it all in control, and 2 weeks and 14 hours later, Sydney Grace was born on December 12. I really do love her birthday, 12/12/06, at 11:11, and one day apart from Madison. It all worked out in the end, but I always think of November 30 as her almost birthday.
