Savannah turned a year old last Friday and I have a few stats to share.
-Today she weighed in at 17 pounds, 1 ounce. She was born at 8 pounds. In comparison, my super skinny Sydney weighed in at 19 pounds 10 ounces at 1 year. Crazy!
-We still nurse 6 to 7 times per day. I don't mind this at all. In fact, I LOVE it! She hasn't nursed in the middle of the night since 8 months, so it's no problem for me. This is also down from the 12-14 times per day she nursed those first few weeks! We nurse first thing in the morning, before and after naps, some "snack times," and right before bed. I plan on nursing until Christmas.
-She has three "meals" a day of either finger foods or fruits or veggies that I have made and pureed. Plus, she has three snack times. It sounds like a lot of food, but she doesn't take a lot at each setting. And since she's still pretty little, I encourage all the food I can.
-She is in 12 month clothes now. Sydney was always one size up because of how long she was, but Savannah is more petite and stays pretty much at the size that corresponds to her age.
-She just started crawling last week and she is all over the place now. The baby gates went up today, which is a bummer. My friend Patti pointed out that no one feels sorry for me because my babies always wait so long to crawl!
-Still no teeth. This is fine by me because it makes it easier with nursing and besides, I love that gummy little grin! She does have two on the bottom that are almost through.
-Savannah is still in her little infant car seat. I never intended on keeping her in there that long, but she is still so short that she fits fine! I do plan on switching her to her big girl car seat (still rear facing of course, I keep them rear facing until two years old) in the next few weeks.
-She adores her big sister and they play together fairly well. Sydney is a little rough but she is learning how to be gentle with a baby.
