You all know how much I love the show Gilmore Girls. It's my fav! In season one, there is an episode where Rory has two birthday parties. Lorelai and her mom are upstairs in her room during the party and Emily comments on Lorelai's quilt. Turns out it was made out of Rory's old baby clothes. What a fabulous idea, right? A quilt made out of old baby clothes? I'm all over that. As Sydney has grown up I have saved a few items like her dedication dress, the dress she wore to her first birthday, and a few other sentimental items that I keep in a tub and look at every one in a while. I have sold many clothes in the local consignment show, and have passed on many clothes down to Savannah. But there are some items that I just couldn't bear to get rid of or pass down. They were too Sydney to be worn by someone else. Plus there were some things, like jammies, that got ripped or stained but that I had loved when she wore them. So, I took a huge pile of things to my friend Carol and she made me this:
My Sydney baby quilt! I just LOVE it! All of those patches around the border are from clothes of Sydney's, too.
Here is the back. Some of those are from her first and second Christmas jammies.
Thank you so much, Carol! This is truly a treasure!

What a fun idea! I have a friend who has made t-shirt quilts for high school grads from all their memorable h.s. t-shirts.
What, I did not see one Duck item in the whole quilt!!!
That is super cute!!! I have been saving Damian's clothes just for this reason! I also have been thinking of making one with all my formal dresses and wedding dress.
