Last weekend Melissa and I threw a baby shower for our friend Kelli and her new baby girl, Quinn. We decided quite a while ago that we would do a shower, but we had a hard time trying to come up with a theme because Kelli is one of those people who doesn't find out the gender of their babies.
Those people drive me crazy. I am a planner, people, come on!
Anyway, we decided to pick a gender neutral theme and go from there. I found this picture and it gave us our inspiration.
We thought a "cute as a button" theme would be great and we could make it work for both genders. Here is what we came up with:
I had a lot of fun putting together gifts for Kelli. I really love to do handmade gifts, but I saw an idea on Pinterest where you roll up a baby sock in a onesie and it looks like a cupcake. I thought I'd give it a try and I think it turned out pretty cute!
And because I do like the handmade gifts, I took a change that Quinn would be a girl and made this while Kelli was still pregnant. I love these simple fleece tie blankets, they are so great for the stroller or when out and about.
We had such a great time planning this shower together! It's always fun to get a group of ladies together to pray over the new baby, bless the new mama, and fellowship together.
Melissa will be posting this button party set as a printable party line in her store. You can print the banner, invitations, door sign, or some paper cupcake toppers, and while you're there you can get the polka dot balloons and paper straws or anything else that you could ever want for an adorable gender neutral shower! Check out her store here.
And by the way, I am counting co-hosting this shower as my Act of Kindness #2!
