My friend Alisa welcomed a sweet baby girl two weeks ago. This was a long awaited daughter after two sons. Just after Christmas I went to her baby shower and it was one of cutest, pink-est, girliest showers I have ever been to and it was awesome. I was totally inspired with some party ideas and with this:
Isn't that beautiful? It's letters printed out and adhered to a painted canvas. I know the picture is at an odd angle, but it says, "For this child I have prayed and the Lord has granted the desires of my heart." It's a verse from I Samuel and was spoken by Hannah after welcoming her son Samuel. I thought it was so fitting for Alisa and her baby. Here is a picture of it over baby Madelyn's crib (notice the bumper memory board I made for her above the book shelf on the other wall!).
I love this verse, I think it fits my feelings exactly as a mother. I have prayed for my children and I am so thankful for them, they truly are the granted desires of my heart. So I've decided to make a canvas just like this one to hang in the play room. I'll work on it next week and post a picture when I'm done. I can't wait!
