Summer is Over...Finally

Summer is over but the weather man isn't aware of that yet. I saw this morning that for the next week it's supposed to be in the 90's each day! That is terrible! It is September, for crying out loud. Starbucks is on board with the whole autumn thing, they released the Pumpkin Spice Latte again which means I'm in heaven again. Sydney had her orientation for school this morning and met her new teachers. Everyone's down with the changing of the seasons except for the weather. We've actually had a really busy couple of weeks. We went to the zoo with my sister before she left to go back to college. Despite the heat, it was a fun trip.

There's this bench that's kind of tucked away and it's usually where I sit and nurse Savannah. Look what was there this time! Kind of fitting, don't you think? In case you can't read it, it says, "In Memory of Hooter."

Sydney's favorite part of the zoo...the jeep in the African section.

So this is kind of funny. My sister always calls Chris "White Lightning" because he's so white and she is so dark from teaching swim lessons outdoors all summer. At the zoo, there was an exhibit where it would show how some animal (obviously it stuck with me because I can't remember which animal) sees with heat sensor vision. On this screen, it shows Chris' legs...totally white! Ha! Chris is on the left and Abbie is on the left.

Look, humans!

Savannah totally crashed in her stroller. Look at those cute little knees all propped up!

Sleepy baby.

The apple farm opened up last week and we went. Sydney waits for this every year!

And the final sign of the changing of the seasons: football! We watched our Ducks play their season opener last weekend. We can't wait for the home games! Here are the girls all decked out.

This weather is AWFUL! I was so excited for September to arrive and let's just say, I feel a little let down with these crazy temps!

I am going to Heather's tomorrow where I will bake pumpkin scones in her air conditioned kitchen and pretend it is not 98 degrees outside.

I am claiming fall regardless of what the forecast says!
