WELCOME TO DAY 1 OF MY BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN! Ok, enough already with the caps. This is a very important post, though, because it sets the tone for the remainder of the countdown. This is how I'm going to do this. First, I will tell you the meaning behind the object in the days of Christmas song and make a clever comment on it. Second, I will tell you my birthday wish that corresponds to the numbered day that it is, like for day three, I could want a three hour pedicure, etc. Finally, I will make a comment about a memory from past birthdays or a wish for the future. Sounds fun, huh? Nod your head yes.
Ok. The first day of Christmas (my true love gave to me...just kidding) was about the partridge in a pear tree. I didn't know this, but the partridge is supposed to represent Christ. There is only one God, one Christ, and He is the most important gift, so He is the first gift on the first day. Isn't that cool? I had no idea.
As for my birthday wish or memory, I am going way back. My first actual memory is from my third birthday party. It was a Smurfette theme. Oh yes. I remember the cake with a picture of Smurfette and her long blonde hair. I remember jumping on one of those tiny indoor trampolines. They are coming out with a Smurf movie soon but it doesn't really appeal to me, so I think I'll skip it. If I could have a birthday movie wish, I would wish that Chris and I could have a day to watch old classics together, like Casablanca, Sixteen Candles, and my newest favorite, The King's Speech. My friend Heather is my movie friend. We love to watch Harry Potter and my favorite, the original Pride and Prejudice. Ah, Mr. Darcy...
